Compact, informative, entertaining: One-day training for the successful use of SAP Fiori
Whether design principles, handling or specific adaptations – within the scope of a one-day training course, we taught ewz employees all the essential basics for the successful use of SAP Fiori.
THE CHALLENGES
A few years ago, SAP recognized the signs of the times and defined a design language for applications that is much more clearly tailored to the user than before: SAP Fiori reduces complexities and generates a consistent user experience. Fiori is the SAP standard set by SAP for the development of new interfaces and ensures visually appealing and intuitive apps in many use cases.
However, the expertise required for the use of Fiori apps is in some cases very different from that required for classic SAP applications, e.g. with regard to the infrastructure required or the management of authorizations. In addition, the Fiori Apps delivered by SAP only represent standard cases in predefined processes. In order to be able to represent individual processes or content as well, they usually have to be adapted or extended.
OUR APPROACH
The structure and content of the training was specifically tailored to ewz and the agenda was deliberately varied – with theory blocks, hands-on sessions and demos alternating.
We started with the basics such as design principles, motivation and strategy of SAP Fiori as well as understanding and handling the Launchpad features "Enterprise Search", "Notifications" and "User Assistance". In addition, we introduced and demonstrated the Extensibility Principle and Key User Adoption, the basics for customizing Fiori apps to specific customer needs.
Further on, we provided important insights for a better understanding of the SAP Fiori App Reference Library and covered various technical topics such as Fiori architecture, Fiori Elements, cloud application integration and SAPUI5 architectures. The participants learned how to administer and configure a Launchpad using the concrete example of Spaces, Pages and Sections – in addition, we explained the authorization concept and presented the SAP Launchpad Service.
Finally, we presented mobile solutions such as MDK or SAP Mobile Start. A well-rounded program that gave a good overview of SAP Fiori, its use and its possibilities.
THE RESULT
With our training, we were able to introduce the participants to SAP Fiori in an entertaining way and facilitate their entry into the Fiori world. For ewz, this is the ideal preparation for an S/4 HANA transformation project currently being implemented.
ABOUT EWZ
