THE CHALLENGES
The security of one's own computer systems and the protection of data and its integrity are existential challenges for every company. With the increasing complexity and diversity of applications and IT landscapes, the potential attack surface is growing. This requires more and more attention and specialized knowledge from operators.
The Security Notes published monthly by SAP are far from a solution to this problem. For SAP customers, it is often difficult or even impossible to realistically assess the threat posed by a particular SAP security vulnerability and the potential business impact of implementing the fix based on the scant information published. In addition, it is often not easy for the customer to determine whether and which of his systems could be affected at all.
OUR APPROACH
Based on our many years of expertise in the area of SAP security, we can make an efficient and targeted contribution to maintaining and improving security in the company. At monthly intervals, coordinated with the patch day published by SAP, we offer specific consulting on the SAP security notes, in the context of which we analyze the security notes in detail and per customer system.
The risk posed by potential security vulnerabilities is assessed individually and discussed with the responsible person within the company. SAP Notes without impact on the business processes are, if possible, implemented directly in the development and test systems. In the case of deeper system interventions, risks and - where appropriate - temporary solutions as well as the ideal implementation time are discussed with the customer in advance. If required, our consulting services can also extend beyond the SAP Security Notes.

THE RESULT
On the basis of this structured foundation, Primeo Energie's Enterprise Applications team can independently take over the planning and implementation of measures, such as going live with SAP security patches, patching system-related components, and updating support packages. In particular, it must be ensured that the maintenance activities do not negatively impact the business processes and are implemented with as little impact on the business units as possible.
