Mobile Fiori apps for finance and logistics processes

A federal department faced the challenge of enabling its end users to access selected SAP Fiori applications—including on mobile devices. Until then, access had been possible only via desktop clients. This limited flexibility and hampered efficiency in logistics and financial processes. The framework conditions were demanding: strict security requirements, high usability requirements for small displays, and the use of existing architectures and SAP best practices.

SAP Build Workzone formed the central basis of our approach. We also used SAP Start to enable mobile access to the required Fiori apps. The connection to the existing identity and access management system guaranteed secure login. The mobile applications were provided via the company-wide MDM solution and optimized for use on mobile devices.

The solution is based entirely on the existing system architecture, is user-friendly, and can be flexibly expanded to meet future requirements.

Logistics processes in the WEME area and financial processes such as invoice approval (VIM) were significantly accelerated as a result. The rapid go-live and stable implementation despite complex technical requirements underscore the success of the project.
