SAP RE-FX migration to S/4HANA – quick and easy thanks to a modern migration cockpit
As part of the transition to the S/4 system landscape, ISB commissioned us with the “SAP RE-FX Migration to S/4HANA” project – a complete migration of the RE-FX module for the real estate sector.
THE CHALLENGES
In addition to the general challenges of an S/4HANA project, such as high complexity, long-term planning, time coordination, integration of the specialist departments and change management, a late project start put us to the test. This resulted in more difficult planning and, in some cases, resource bottlenecks. The time available for testing was very limited - we had to restrict ourselves to a test migration run and a migration mandate.
In short: everything had to work at the first attempt.

OUR APPROACH
We focused on a simple and fast migration using a modern migration cockpit (SAP Migration Cockpit) with direct RFC connections to the legacy system. Various interfaces were migrated and integrated, as well as RE customizing and RE development objects for the transport system.
We developed our own migration objects for:
- Kibanda – tenant change log
- Kibanda – Room/Contract
- Kibanda – Ticket
- Kibanda – Viewing appointment
- RE-FX – Building
- RE-FX – Business entity
- RE-FX – Real estate contract/real estate contract correction
- RE-FX – Property
- RE-FX – Participation groups
- RE-FX – Rental object
- RE-FX – Settlement unit/settlement unit correction
We also migrated Kibanda to the corresponding S/4 version using the SAP Migration Cockpit.

THE RESULT
Despite the sporty timing, the RE module has been set up and is working perfectly. It is possible to track the entire migration at any time – and the latest release is always reliably available.
